Because of previous renovations this apartment was a real labyrinth of corridors, spare spaces and small bedrooms, a big transformation was needed to turn it into an elegant and spacious 3 bedroom apartment, which is in parallel to the classic building and prominent location. During refurbishment projects we often find some surprise, but here the unexpected light-weight wooden slab structure made impossible to install floor heating, and required redesigning the technical parts quickly in the construction phase. The other surprise found under the floor was an unexploded 2nd world war hand-grenade, due to it also military technicians had to participate in this refurbishment project. After the prolonged first steps, the apartment got its new shape relatively quickly thanks to the light-weight materials used in the new structures. Entering in the apartment we find ourselves in an almost 100 m2 open space. The huge opening between the dining- and living area connects these spaces with a custom made open bioethanol fireplace. The kitchen is characterized by a huge and massive black technistone island, the tall cabinets with fridge and freezer are integrated in the wall. All bedrooms have an ensuit-bathroom, the 2 bigger ones also own big walk-in wardrobes.
